It was 2019, and I sat among titans of industry at an exclusive Real Estate conference in London.

A panel of what I affectionately call "Fund Mob Lords" held court, discussing "The Future of Private Wealth and Allocation Globally." 

When the moment for questions arrived, I raised my hand and asked with genuine curiosity: "What do you think about allocating capital to Wellness Real Estate?"

The response still stays with me today.

First came silence—that peculiar quiet when convention is challenged. 

Then, a Managing Director from Goldman Sachs laughed. Others joined.

When composure returned, he asked, "What is Wellness Real Estate? Do you mean hospitals and clinics?" 

His tone betraying amusement at what he perceived as naiveté.

I chose not to respond. Recognising some insights cannot be forced upon others.

I share this story not as criticism but as illumination. 

What unfolded in subsequent years: a global health crisis that transformed economies, portfolios, and priorities stands as testament to what happens when we operate from incomplete wisdom.
